Just when we think Gatlinburg is maxed out on fun and great things to do, our local attractions add on even more opportunities for locals and guests. Anakeesta is one of those spots and we’re always excited to see what tricks they have up their sleeves! 2020 is going to include non-stop memory making days in the Smokies, and with Anakeesta’s upcoming additions this year, many of those days will be spent on top of Gatlinburg’s favorite mountain destination! Here are a few of the exciting details to their expansion!

Epic Views From Anakeesta

Anakeesta in Gatlinburg

In 2020 Downtown Gatlinburg will be treated to epic views from Anakeesta’s new observation tower! The unique tower will offer up the opportunity for taking in beautiful 360-degree views from downtown Gatlinburg’s highest point. The tower will sit on the summit of Anakeesta Mountain and is certainly going to take the already stunning views of Anakeesta to an entirely different level!

BBQ, Brews and Views

As if views weren’t enough to entice you to head up to the top of Anakeesta in 2020 then maybe this will help! One of Gatlinburg’s most loved attractions is also tossing in some mouthwatering BBQ and brews. The Smokehouse Brewery will open this year and will be serving up southern BBQ favorites, a wide range of local craft beers, and incredible views that will include the best sunsets in town!

Family Fun in the Sun

If you’re heading to the hills this summer with the family, you’ll want to add Anakeesta to your itinerary for numerous reasons, including the new water play area that’s being added to the list of fun. Gatlinburg’s magical mountain will now include a man-made Tennessee creek and waterfall that will be perfect for staying cool on hot summer days. Guests will also find frozen yogurt and pizza at walk-up windows and a new coffee and snack shop. Toss in some live music, fire pits and views of the Smokies and you can’t go wrong with spending a day on the mountain!

A Tree House Adventure for Children of All Ages

Adults that not only have children in their family but also want to connect to their own inner child, will have a blast in the new play area that’s great for children of all ages! It will feature tree houses that are connected to a challenge course and will include areas to relax. There will also be a new boardwalk added that will give access to the Vista Gardens and new observation tower.

All of the new additions that are a part of the expansion for this year are going to add a crazy amount of fun to Anakeesta’s Treetop Skywalk, Dueling Ziplines, Rain Runner mountain coaster and more!
